I noticed i had sluggish internet service today.

This was my internet speed this morning.

This was my internet speed this morning.

So I did the usual:

1. Restarted my computer (didn’t work)

2. Restart my router (didn’t work)

3. Updated ClamWin anti-virus & Spybot Search & Destroy (both free & work great.) & Shut off the internet router.

5. Restarted my computer & ran ClamWin anti-virus & Spybot Search & Destroy (nothing found)

7. Called Time Warner (they said that it was at already at full speed. no problem found.)

8. Updated & ran Peer Block (free, works great to block pesky spies, WORKED!)

Immediately I noticed a change. So I ran another speedtest:

WOW! Peer Block helped, but I wanted to make sure I was getting full speed so…

9.  On my wireless router, I fire walled different ports used by Time Warner (WORKED!) – I also blocked the IP address from a Time Warner email I received a while back telling me to stop downloading tv shows….

Tada!!

Block your service provider and get better service.

Who’d thunk it?
