I went to two auditions on Friday. One rejected me. But the other… They rejected me in a really nice way. They asked me to go back on Monday with a DRAMATIC monologue. So I rented some DRAMATIC movies and hopefully something moves me. I need to memorize a full 5 minutes, perfectly. I got me a cheap little digi cam so I can add new pics to my site. I really need to redo the website. Nobody even goes to the rest of it when they notice it hasn't been updated. A cool thing did happen this past week though. I got an email from some stranger back home in EL PASO, TEXAS! She lives in the projects where I grew up as a child (the foundation of my comedy material). So she writes to me because she read an artical about me in the Government Housing Newsletter. Trippy, huh? I guess they got wind of me and decided that I would make a great mentor for the other poor project kids. Basically it said, “He is proof that with a dream and hard work, you can get ahead in life…” It was really nice. I mean, a complete stranger took the time to read this story about me, look for me on the internet, scan a copy of the article, and tell me “hello”. Wow. That made my whole month. And did I mention it was my birthday???? 1/4 of a century old! Hoola back! Bye.
